The Queen's Chair: Singer John Mayer And The "N" Word

This story startled so many people when it broke. But singer John Mayer used the "N" word in a recent interview in Playboy Magazine. He apologized, but the damage (in my opinion) can't be repaired.

I personally don't care if his father thinks black women are unattractive. And I don't care if he thinks that either. He was doing a NATIONAL INTERVIEW with Playboy Magazine. Hellooooo???? It's not like Playbook has a circulation of 23 people, John.

What annoys me is that he used a couple of references about a "hood" pass and that if you call it a "hood" pass you might as well call it a n****r pass. Considering that a significant percentage of his fans are African American women, he shot himself in the foot. Did he not realize that? If he had sense, he would have used a less offense term. It's apparent that he grew up in a house of hate.

I wasn't a fan and I still won't be one. Now that the rest of the world knows how he feels and thinks, he shouldn't be surprised when the "black dollars" stop disappearing from his concert receipts. He should have kept his opinion and his big hateful mouth closed. He's entitled to his opinion and African American women are entitled to spend their money elsewhere.
