The Queen's Chair: Being Single and Loving It

There was a survey on NBC's Today Show. It seems that a growing number of single women (ages 40 and older) would rather be single than be in a bad relationship. This age group included divorced and widowed women. Why?

This trend is occuring for many reasons. I for one applaud it. This age group, frankly, is more active and social than a decade ago. People include friends as extended family, may be dating someone, and have more disposal income to do what he/she wants to do. Like taking vacations together.

There's no bitterness about being single. It's about enjoying life. No wants to be in unfilling relatonships and put up with stuff. Marriage is not for the faint of heart. And not everyone is meant to be a parent. Coupledom is nice, but it's not for everyone. Society is changing and I think we need to change our thoughts about being and living single.
