The Queen's Chair: Why Do We Search For Love?

Can someone answer this for me?

These days, people use computer dating sites, take out blind ads in the newspaper personals section, participate in speed dating, and go on blind dates. They make finding their significant other into a fulltime job. Everybody wants that warm fuzzy feeling. Awwhhh...

So, why do we search for love? We are a society that believes the key to happiness is finding someone to share your life with. If you are single and happy, it is perceived that something is wrong with you. Yet, our country has the highest divorce rate. Talk about a contradiction.

As we get older, the search intensifies. It becomes an obession for some after 30. Some people don't want to grow old alone. Some want children. Others have a magical number in their head that they must be married by. Some people" lower their standards" in the name of love.

None of that applies to me. I am a firm believer that if you don't look for it...it naturally comes to you. When you do look, disaster usually strikes. Horrible dates. Situations you don't normally put up with...you do. You wonder what's wrong with Cupid's aim. Don't block your blessing by ending up with the wrong person.

Like that song says: Don't push it, don't force it...let it happen naturally. If it was meant to happen , let it happen naturally. Love is no guarantee for happiness. You have to love yourself first and then everything will fall into place. Trust me.

Great question.

When you are hungry, you are desperate to find food.

Love is a basic human need. Everyone needs it somewhere, from children, parents, friends, family.

I can't blame someone who wants it and looks for it.

What about the biblical wisdom: SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND?

I'm not sure why more people turn to dating sites to find love, I tend to be slow in relationships because I'm of the mindset that good things come to those who wait.

But you know there's always the case that can be argued, God made somebody for everybody and it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.
