Black, Vegetarian and Proud of It

Just recently, I picked up fish again, but I plan on leaving it alone when I can catch up with myself and remember my best eating habits. I stopped eating pork in 1993. After then, it was beef, chicken, then turkey, then fish. I could sense that I was on a role to something great. That leaving meat alone completely was going to benefit me well. Well, after almost ten years at age 34 I still look the same as when I was 25. I'm very healthy and I never get tired. I have read a lot of material about eating healthy. Vegeterianism was quite foreign to me, a brand new world. It was a creative way of living for me. I enjoyed getting to know mopre about vegetarian eating and tasting foods I had never eaten before. Some of it tasted funny at first, but the more I styed committed, the more I liked the foods. Belonging to a church where a lot nice amount of its members were vegetarian helped a great deal. Vegetarian options were always around when we had potlucks and holiday meals. I have stuck to my diet. Sometimes I do stray away from my former vegan lifestyle. However, I still know what's healthy and will stay away from dairy as much as possible. What I learned about dairy products is that 95% of African Americans are lactose intolerant. Dairy, cow's milk, is responsible for asthma and allergies in us. I'm satisfied with my diet. I am not pushy or arrogant about the way that I eat. I do what's best for me and share information with others when there's an opportunity to do so. I will live a long time...my way of eating will help me do so.
