Are light skinned children treated better?

Are light skinned children treated better?

Have you observed that most light skinned children are better, dressed, their hair is combed nicer, than a darker child in a poor community?

True about how the parents are responsible. However, unless the household is totally dysfunctional --I think that lighter skinned and prettier kids are treated better, in the North but not in the South.

I have never noticed this. I have noticed the american way of treating fairer skinned people a little better but that has nothing to do with how they are treated within their family.

I don't think that they are necessarily treated better I think that there is a certain expectation that if your child is of a lighter persuasion that they will automatically be beautiful and more excepted than a darker child. I have both! I have a lighter skinned son and darker skinned daughter. Both by the same man but just skin colored differently. They are treated the same by me there is no one of them that is treated better than the other because I love them both equally.
My daugther is a dark skinned young lady but is very attractive and very addictive personality. I am sad to say that she will probably face her share of differences just because she is not fair skinned like Alicia Keys or Beyonce even though she will measure up to them in looks.

People of low mentality will never get equality , equality and justice stands for all and know that Eurocentric idea of beauty will fall jus tas most of them get skin cancer due to the sun, a lot of '*****S' }real definetion dead people who can be asians europeans, chinese japanese, the ethomology of this word can reresent any nation on planet earth..) view 'ligt' skin as beautiful I call this mental slavery

I would say yes that children that are of a lighter skin tone get treated better and get a little more ahead in life than children of a darker skin tone.
<<<<<< But that's just my opinion.

Why are black people in denial? maybe that is why we continue to have the ugly racism we do. looking at the pic of that little child? who is talking about HAIR? you have got to be kidding right? the black world is a hot mess. do some hair? what is that? if you have good quality hair. ya' know like a good quality weave--lol it --all you have to do is wash and wear it --talk about not knowing what is going on! whew..who SAID ANYTHING ABOUT WHITE WOMEN ? ARE black americans so blighted that they think that other BLACK AMERICANS THAT ARE LIGHT SKINNED MUST HAVE A WHITE PARENT? OH GOD. HELP US.

BTW WAY THE PIC OF THOSE TWO LITTLE GIRLS? THEY ARE TWINS...AH YA'LL NEED TO GO TO MY ANTHROPOLOGY CLASS AT www.khemeticscience.ning.com..I thought only the whites and hispanics in amerikkka were ignorant about color.. wow. wow.wow.

I don't think that ever light skinned person has a white perent. I just think that people in general that are light skinned get treated better than people that are dark skinned.
I'm not hating, but I can see it.
Tuesday, January 26th 2010 at 8:44AM
I also believe that they are so close to the white complection of a white person that that will happen <<< My mother told me this along time ago.
Tuesday, January 26th 2010 at 8:45AM
Plus in the daycare that I used to work at years ago I saw most people pick up the light skinned baby b4 they pick up the dark skinned <<< Maybe b-cuz the lighter tone baby has prettier features ( I'm not saying that the dark skinned baby has strong features) but lets just be real here people .......YOU'RE GOING TO PICK UP THE LIGHT SKINNED BABY WAY B4 YOU EVEN THINK PICKING UP THE DARK SKINNED BABY!

this is a good topic :)

That's interesting, the observation about today most black girls are not dark skinned (your comment that "that nowadays they aren't any more real dark skinned girls and the ones I know are gorgeous" I don't agree, there are a lot of dark skinned and fat, and obnoxious black girls in every single major urban city on the East Coast and every ghetto.

This continuing dialogue is about healing one's own perceptions. This shows the extent to which Black Americans have gone to "protect" their dark skinned sisters.
Therefore the protection is needed because the underlying belief is that they are not as fortunate as the lighter skinned girls ..yet the lighter skinned girls (women) should speak up and get it out in the open how hurtful their dark skinned sisters have been ...to them since the Massah put the first slave-daughter in the Massah's house..

I thought every black family in America had light skinned, brown skinned, red, yellow and brown and white in their family..don't tell me I am wrong?

Here is the problem, if you start with a mindset of ( inter racial l )you are already on the wrong track.I have a blog on the Am erican Physical Anthropologists somewhere on here, read the scientific definition of race, as long as you prescribe to yourself the definition according to "white superiority" called hegemony..you will come up with the same result..which is to deny truths--now I am seeing for the first time a glimpse of how you don't want to deal with this issue....but you need to, to conquer hate, ignorance and the American Way.

And who has the twins? you or your "friend"..interracial and white???? interracial and black? Major confusion.
