What Should We Add Next?

What Should We Add Next?
Posted By: Will Moss on June 19, 2009

I just relaunched the forums on the site which was major work over the last 6 weeks but it's done... Peep it out:
http://club.hbcuconnect.com/cgi-bin/forum....

Now what should we work on next for the site? Chat, Instant Messaging, or Dating?

hi! i loveee HBCU Connect. it really helps me get to know more about HBCUS. The only concern I have about the website is the amount of advertisements that interupt linking from one page to another. Thanks for listening!

Hi. I like hbcu so far. I think this site should add status like facebook also.

as a web designer and advert manager, i sense this site have instant messaging system,
yahoo chat features, and a very secure personal identity system, like befor any member will be verified, he/she must provide any citizenship certificates like Drivers license or birth certificate or International passport or civilian passport. with this we will have a strong authentication system to stop fake identity thief from harming others life.

Why would you want facebook style chat...that's what facebook is for. I feel like there should be more of an intellectual feel to this place for us

I agree with Rene Andrews, chat is what facebook does. What should be added are more forums with threads with topics pertaining to the interest of the primary African American culture who uses HBCU Connect so that they can have an opportunity to voice their opinions. There is something to be said about the newer version of HBCU Connect. And that is, newer is suppose to be improve and better. Not raggedy and broke down.

I appreciate the comments... Please keep them coming. To Joan Brown, as for your comment about things not being raggedy and broke down, is there anything that you think is broke down on the site now that we need to address? Others feel free to chime in here...

On a side note, I added a feature where you can be notified whenever someone replies to a thread you commented on...

I too agree with Renee Andews that this website should have an intellectual flavor. I feel it is also a good idea to include things that directly impact our culture as well as issues relative to present=day issues. I feel that HBCU is an excellent resource for Black Colleges to connect. Thank you for allowing us to share constructively in making this network more versatile and functional.

The idea about deleting a message after u type it should apply only to removal of a message submitted-- not to avoid detection-- just in case one changed her mind or his mind about a comment made. Like facebook.

I dont want this to be a copy of facebook or myspace, just add a chat format and keep the blogs and intellectual discussions which are common to hbcu grads.
