Posted By: SARA JOY EDGEMON on August 24, 2009 I REMEMBER WHEN YOU USE TO PLAY IN MY HAIR… AND I’D SMILE EACH TURN JUST SEEING YOU THERE BUT NOW EXTENDED ARMS ARE IN WANTING REACH AND ECHO’S ARE THE SOUNDS OF THE WORDS I TRY AND SPEAK WE’RE SLIPPING AWAY…WAY…WAY LEAVING A THOUSAND WHYS JUST YOU’RE COLD SHOULDER FEELS LIKE GOODBYE AS I LAY REFLECTING WHEN MY TOUCH LOST YOU FOR DAYS BUT NOW THROUGH MY FINGERS WE’RE SLIPPING AWAY CAUSING RIVERS, OF ENDLESS TEARS FINALLY FACING THE TRUTH OF UNSAID FEARS BECAUSE IT SEEMS WITHOUT WARNING SILENCE HAS LEAD US ASTRAY AND YOU’RE SO LOST IN YOUR DREAMS THAT WE’RE SLIPPING AWAY LOOK I REALIZE YOUR STRIDE IS TO HELP THE STRUGGLES WE FACE BUT YOU’RE BECOMING A STRANGER IN THIS PLACE FOR I REMEMBER WHEN YOU KNEW YOU WASN’T ALONE LAUGHING AND PLAYING IN THE WALLS OF OUR HOME BUT NOW WE’RE CONSUMED WITH PRESSURES AND STRESS CAUSING THOUGHTS LIKE TORNADOES TO STORM THROUGH OUR REST AND INSTEAD OF EXPRESSING ANYTHING WE HAVE TO SAY WE LAY LISTENING TO WHISPERS DRIFTING AWAY….WAY….WAY… BY: SARA JOY EDGEMON @8/23/09 If you enjoyed this article, Join BlackInAmerica.com today for similar content and opportunities via email! |

MUSIC PLAYS A BIG PART IN THE INSPIRATION OF MY PEOTRY...IF I HEAR SADNESS I FEEL DRAWN TO EXSPRESS IT THROUGH MY THOUGHTS OR HOW I WOULD FEEL IN THAT MOMENT...MANY PEOPLE ASK ME WHERE SOME OF MY POEMS ROOT FROM, AND THE SIMPLE ANSWER WOULD BE "LIFE"...SOMETIMES JUST RELATING TO SOMEONE'S PAIN IS HEALING AND SOMETIMES IT ISN'T "ALWAYS" MY HURT, BUT SOMEONE ELSE'S THAT HAVE CAUSED ME TO CREATE IN THE FASHION THAT I DO...I THANK ALL OF YOU, FOR EACH COMMENT AND EACH MOMENT YOU GET LOST IN MY WORLD...FOR HEALING TO ME, IS JUST TAKING THE TIME TO UNDERSTAND....
