Forming Your Nonprofit from A-Z !

I often run into people when I am consulting regarding nonprofit start-up who don't have a realistic idea of actually what a not-for-profit really is. I will make it clear as a bell, because if you don't know, it could cost you dearly before you even get started because early preparation will be absolute key in determining your IRS approval.I can help you! If this sounds good, then great, let's get started. The word 'nonprofit' refers to a type of enterprise that forbids distribution of profits to any "owners." So you, as the founder, nor will anyone else, own the nonprofit corporation. Because nonprofits corporations are formed under the laws of a specific state, each state has it's own provisions for how they can operate. Because corporations are required to pay federal corporate income taxes on their net earnings. However, under IRS Code there are several circumstances listed under which nonprofits are exempt. Thanks Jen, it definately is ! I wish I could've had an expert work with me one on one and walk me through some things when I first got started. It would've saved me a lot of time and money.
