Posted By: Omosede O. on August 10, 2010 Really short blog. But I've been reading blogs and articles on his ****. Who is Ted Stevens? He was a Republican United States Senator from Alaska, serving from December 24, 1968, until January 3, 2009. He known for some controversy In December 2003, the Los Angeles Times reported that Stevens had taken advantage of lax Senate rules to use his political influence to obtain a large amount of his personal wealth. Stevens had "steered millions of federal dollars to a sportfishing industry group founded by Bob Penney, a longtime friend." Alot of the comments and response I've been seeing have been quite cruel and negative. Some saying "good for him" or "one less devil in the world" etc. How do you all feel about the situation and about Ted Stevens? I was really sad at hearing the news of his death and even did a blog myself here. I'm always misty when I hear people have passed on whether I know them personally or not. My heart and prayers go out to his family, friends, and his children who are now orphans so to speak. Rest in peace Senator.

I believe some of the comments about his death were over the top. Even though I didn't agree with Sen. Stevens image and what he did, may he rest in peace...
