So meaningful to me. I have posted on fb and Visual Bookshelf my comments about this book...Thomasena Martin-Johnson's poignant verses reaffirms truths time and pain blur about life, emotions, dreams birthed and dwindled to ashes for the Native Americans and African Americans. Personal memories for me as African American and a woman are mirrored vividly. Her poems tell of will steeped to persevere through adversity, and act as admonition that "Lest ye forget..." I carry this book with me to read as I reach for support and will to go the next little while.
