John Ridgeway Harry, I’ll try to keep this simple as possible. The Bible is a collection of books containing the history of the children of Israel, and how the Most High dealt with them and their enemies. It contains the laws, statues and commandments, which were given to the nation of Israel/twelve tribes. They were not given religion, religion is man made. Harry the main difference between the Bible and the Quran, is that in the Bible, the Most High tells us he only deals with the Israelite's and not the Ishmaelites/Arabs nor any other nation. According to the Bible in the book of Amos 3:2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities. In the Bible, the Most High also expresses his feelings about the other nations. According to the Bible in the book of 2 Esdrus 6:54 And after these, Adam also, whom thou madest lord of all thy creatures: of him come we all, and the people also whom thou hast chosen. 6:55 All this have I spoken before thee, O Lord, because thou madest the world for our sake's. 6:56 As for the other people, which also come of Adam, thou hast said that they are nothing, but be like unto spittle: and hast likened the abundance of them unto a drop that falleth from a vessel. So, the Most High is telling us the other nations are nothing to HIM. On the other hand, the Quran is in agreement with the Bible, and even confirms that Allah/God prefer the children of Israel over the other nations, including the Ishmaelites/Arabs. The Bible is not a recitation of the Quran According to the Quran in the 2 Surah 122 O Children of Israel, call to mind the special favor, which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you to all others. Now, As far as so-called religion is concerned, the Most High say, they all worship idols. That’s another big difference. The Cross is an idol; the Buddha is an idol; the kahbah is an idol, Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus is an idol, but the God of Israel is an Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent Spirit Being. According to the Bible in the book of Psalms 96:5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. Harry, the Bible tells us the Most High and Christ look like a so-called African American, the Quran doesn't. That’s another big difference. According to the Bible in the book of John 14:9 Jesus said to him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you then, Show us the Father? According to the Bible in the book of Revelations 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; Revelations 1:15 And his feet like to fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. The word ‘law’ as used in the Old Testament comes from the Hebrew word ‘Torah’ meaning instruction. The Hebrew word for ‘law’ comes from the verb ‘Yarah‘, which means to throw or to shoot (arrows). The verb ‘Horah‘ means to point, guide, instruct, and teach. Hence the law is that which provides authoritative guidance. In the New Testament, the Greek word used for law is ‘nomos‘. Nomos means that which is assigned hence, usage, custom and then law or a rule governing one’s actions. What is the law in the Bible The term law in the bible refers to: – 1. The entire Old Testament John 10:34: Jesus answered them, is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’? Jesus was quoting psalms 82:6. 1Cor 14:21: In the law it is written, ‘By men of strange tongues and by lips of foreigners will I speak to this people; and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord’. Paul was quoting from Isaiah 28:11-12. Neither psalms nor Isaiah are books of the law, but the term law applies to the entire Old Testament because it constituted God’s special revelation of instruction for Israel and ultimately for man. 2. The first five books of the bible (The Pentateuch) The first five books of the Old Testament are called Torah or the law books. They contain the laws or commands and instruction given by the Lord through Moses to the people of Israel. These books are; Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. 3. The Ten commandments The word law refers also to the God’s commandments; The Ten Commandments in Exodus 20. The Ten commandments were written by God and given to Moses to present them to the children of Israel thus the world at large. Ex 24:12-13: And the LORD said to Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give you tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that you may teach them. And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God. 4. The Mosaic law The mosaic law are the laws which Moses coded (wrote) and set to rule or govern the children of Israel, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit; God. These laws are found in Exodus chapter 21 up to the last book of the Pentateuch except for Deuteronomy chapter 5 (Deut: 5 contains The Ten Commandments which are God’s laws). When you walk into a Christian church the book that the Christian preachers preach from is the Bible. It is clear that the Bible is a religious book. If you walked into a Muslim mosque the book the Imam teach from is the Holy Quran. The holy Quran teaches the Islamic religion. It is clear that the Holy Quran is a religious book.
