Richardson, Tuskegee Airman 45A Greeted by Lt. Col. Rob Moore at the 437th Airlift Wing, Dr. Eugene J. Richardson Jr., one of the original Tuskegee Airmen, attended an event and shared his story with the airmen that he helped inspire. “Thank you for leading the way,” said Lt. Col. Rob Moore. I personally have had the opportunity and the honor of meeting and becoming friends with Dr. Eugene J. Richardson, 45A of the original "Tuskegee Airmen!" Dr. Richardson and I met during my employment and membership at 'Center In The Park,' an adult community in Philadelphia PA. We were in the billiard room of the center when we first engaged in conversation with one another. We laughed and shared a few comments while watching several male members shoot a game of pool. I had no knowledge at that moment; of the fact that Dr. Richardson was, in fact, an airman. Hell, I didn't even know his name. The exciting knowledge and enlightenment came to me when a colleague at the center, mentioned the fact that he indeed, was a walking, talking 'Black History Hero...an "American History Hero!" I haven't as yet, been able to sit and listen to his many military exploits. I am highly excited to hear and learn of this remarkable man and his first hand account(s) of the "Red Tails" and their heroic adventures. But you may rest assured that I will be anxiously awaiting the opportunity to hear and share the stories that reside with Dr. Eugene J. Richardson; My Friend. ~ Gregory V.
