You are so correct in doing this my child's principle in elementary school kept a clothes closet for the children, when it was cold out, you would see her standing in the front of the school telling the children, you go get a jacket.( she had laid the jackets laid on tables in front of the school) also the teachers made a supply wish list and the parents that could would buy stuff on the list and the teacher would use the supplies for the children, this worked well when they forgot something or did not have it in the first place. I thought the school was unique, caring and yes it is a public school.
