What kind of Black Movies Would You Like to See?

Only movies about us? Movies about other cultures? science fiction, adventure..or all of the above from a Black point of view? I am presently raising money to produce an urban super hero drama called, Derk Noble. He is a hero that saves children. I'm anxious to hear your views. I would love to see more serious dramatic African-American movies done with more artistry than what I've been seeing. I think there's a untapped treasure of story ideas and themes from our unique cultural, social and political experience here in the US.

I would like to see more drama/biographical stories about the real-life people in our community who overcame obstacles. I am not speaking about the typical comidies and movies about basketball players uplifting the family from the projects, etc. They are good ones, but I would like to look up at the big screen and see stories like "mask" with Cher, but the characters are black and from a black point of view. I would like to see Down-in-the-Delta type movies. One of my dreams is to have my own life story on film and, of course, only alfre Woodard could play my role. Smile. The one other type of movies I would like to see are musicals illustrating the infinite talents of our people. We are a dancing species. Musicals such as Cabin In The Sky and Idlewide are not supported and promoted as they shuld be. We are a musically-driven people so I feel it is very important to have more black musicals for our children. What happens is that as children are exposed to musicals, they aspire those same goals.
