They just need a little support, a little encouragement, the right opportunities. Unfortunately, they face discrimination long before people get to know them. Not all ex-offenders spend their whole lives in trouble like the media would have us believe. My mother always used to say to me, about my husband, "once a convict, always a convict" which isn't always true. She also added that her piers consider her an ex-con because I married one. Go figure why she and I don't speak. You can only listen to negativity so long, before you yourself become bitter. Thank you for your post! Praise God there are those outside the iron bars that choose not to judge a person's future by their past. GB

This is true. Anyone can change. After, life's journey is an unending evolution. Some of us evolve into someone better and some of us don't.
