AUTHORS NEED EACH OTHER.... WHY BE SELFISH? (1183 hits)

Salutations!

There is not one author I know that hasn't needed help from another author. Then why are authors often so selfish? When was the last time you can think that you actually supported another author? If it's been to long to remember, then it's been way too long!

Just a few days before posting this blog, I went to another author's book signing. No, I wasn't at my own signing, but another author who mainly needed support. When I arrived, the presence of just being there gave the inspiring writer/author the perk needed to feel more confident to continue. Most positively, I could of just thought of an selfish reason not to attend this book signing, but I know just having a presence of a person of interest is like rockets to give ignition and motivating someone. "I have my own books".. This could of been my reason to stay home and not give that author a second thought. I wanted to support though, and even if the author doesn't feel the same way about me, I can know I showed an unselfish act of supporting.

Authors need each other, so the next time you're invited to something an author is having, try to attend it --even if you're not making a purchase; give a donation, or the gifts of encouragement.

It's an absolutely terrific way to give others a boost, and also feeling the reward of being there for another person like you, should definately be inspiring to an author as well as yourself.

That's because...You'll be a Yellow Rose...Among the Red!
