It doesn't matter how many Thanksgiving holidays I celebrate, each one is special, a blessing and greatly treasured. Many people will pack their bags and hit the road to drive across or out of town to see family and friends. Others will take to the air to get to loved ones as soon as they can.
When I was a kid, we always went to my paternal grandparents for the holidays. Oh! How I loved those times! Family would come to visit from all around! My grandparents' house would be filled with family and friends.
All I had to do was step out on the front porch and I could see the same love, laughter and appreciation being poured inside neighbors' homes as well.
And the food. There was a feast! My grandmother always tried to make at least once dish that a different person in the family liked. Looking back on those times now I can see even more how much seeing her family happy and at peace was to her. Thank the good Lord, those times extended year round.
And so it is that I think about you, your family and friends.
Whatever you do, enjoy yourself. Count your blessings and take the time to truly experience and appreciate what is happening around you.
Happy, Blessed Thanksgiving!!
