This is a remake of the Karate Kid made several years ago where a student learns how to cope with competition and growing pains. This latest Karate Kid is also featuring a young man named Dre Parker [played by Jaden Smith] who faces bullies in his new home of Beijing China. Jaden is the son of the famous family of Will and Jada Smith who are also producers of the film.
The storyline begins in Detroit when Dre's mom has a job opportunity that lands them to live in Beijeng China. That's when he meets and takes on conflicts with school bullies. Dre meets someone who'll come to offer help. It's a new face to the Karate Kid. Refreshing outlook, and a I believe it will be fine film worth a look. Look for it and put it on your list of movies to see. When it premieres then of course, by all means....
