We have all seen the masks carved out from Africa. many black Africans thought the masks, statues or sculptors carried widom of past spirits and would communicate to future generations of black people. The kings, queens, rulers, chiefs, monarchs and highest officials began to discount math and science in favor for religious ceremony and rituals. Kings in Africa trying to outdo another king of another village would use the most skilled craftsman to make carvings instead of using their skills to build bridges and motor ways. The de-emphasized infrastructure in favor of vivid display of their love for their ancestra spirits. African chieftains encouraged those citizens skilled in science to produce artifacts. Lets face it, these artifacts were motionless with no real purpose...they could not bring water or food to the people. They just set there. So the people of the village suffered in favor of the chieftain being pleased for having the best mask in the land.
Now, here we are today.....Most Black Americans go to college and major in liberal arts, sociology, phychology and physical education avoiding math and science because its too hard, I hear. It turns out that anything worlh learning is not easy. One thing we can learn from our African History is that education should not fall up under religion so that black scientist can exercise their skills for the development of the nation in its entirety and all the people. Black people need to learn to benefit from their scientists which is a mercy from Almighty God. Instead of avoiding the math and science....yet want to contend with who have studied in these fields and mastered them.
