NATIONAL SCENE
Former Polictical figure from Memphis, Tennessee and popular national known politcian, Harold Ford, Jr. has decided to end his competetion in the New York Senator's race. Ford, Jr. stated on a national signicated televison show on Sunday, 3.07.2010 that he has decided not to run for New York's Senator's position because he feels this will divide the votes filling the seats in the senate will a Republic majority. Ford Jr. said that he thinks it would be better not to run causing risks for the split-vote. A confident Ford indicates he will possibly pursue his polictical career later when the outlook presents him with a more prevelent opportunities to run. Ford's is a native Memphian and is part of a highly participated polictical family.

When an e-mail sent over the screen from Tennessee Hospitality Association Head Walt Baker was delievered he was only trying to be funny. Being just a step curious, Walt Baker stated in it was his manner of joking; that First Lady, Michele Obama resembled Tarzan's Cheetah's, and she and the monkey they were look-alikes! The e-mail showed pictures of the First Lady and a monkey. However, when Walter Hunt one of Nashville's prominment politictian and receipient of the e-mail got hold of it he wasn't laughing! Mr. Hunt was appauled at the whole issue and found his actions in overtoned joke racist. Since Mr. Baker is in charge of hospitality in the Tennessee Association, Mr. Hunt felt he over-stepped himself with writing such an e-mail. Since then, Mr. Baker has apologized openly and said he hated he ever did the e-mail. He stated that he would never live it down because of his "not-so-funny" joke. Now it appears he may have to step down from his position, or either be asked to resign. The Hospitality Association will be reviewing his e-mail --and that may possibly be a step which may cause Mr. Walt Baker, to step down from his position. Baker says he realizes he'll be facing some difficult consequences. There has been no word from the White House.
What a strange way to show hospitality? I think he'll be more careful in the future with his Tarzan and Cheetah jokes... You never know where those e-mails might step out to!
UPDATE: Mr. Walt Baker was terminated from his position as of March 07,2010 by the Tennessee Hospitality Association.

National Scene at the Oscars

Sandra Bullock took home the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in the movie The Blind Side. Bullock portrayed a Memphis family who adopted a black youth. She publicy thanked Touchy's family for allowing her to be permitted to act such a role. The family in the movie also attended the Oscar ceremony. What a great step for her, she also won the Razzi award for the worst actress too! Read my own Movie News of The Blind Side right here from this site:
