The Memphis City School will be cutting their budgets with 584 jobless people. The school board met with city council members and went over budgets and financial plans. However, it was a classical in the note of "C-Minus" which means that many of their employees will leave. These jobs will include part-time teacher assistances and teacher-aids. In addition, every employee which remains employed will have to take 2 additional days off work each week. As the summer approaches, many of these five-hundred will be in a classical mood to find new jobs.

Gas prices are rising up at the pumps! Nation wide the prices average at approixmately 7 cents more per gallon. With many people driving on their summer vacations, this may be a bit hard to swallow. Local prices in Memphis vary between an average of $2.66-2.79 for a gallon of regular gas. However, increases are predicted to raise it up at $3.00 by mid-summer.

A former Ripley, Tennessee police officer is being held in a trial for child abuse. The source stated that the officer has been accused of child abuse when he apparently spanked his daughter repeatedly for spilling water over his "marijuana" The mother of the child is sueing him and also wants to take back custody of their little girl. Right now, the officer is facing courts and may also be charged with an illegal substance abuse too.

THE PLUSH CLUB CLOSES

Recently on Friday, May 07, 2010 a brawl outside the Plush Club located on Beale Street was encountered with a brawl between police officers and 4 Plush Club attendees. The fight started in the club between fighting of the 4 men. They moved outside the club where police interceded and it was a chaos! Four Memphis Policemen were injured, and 4 suspects were arrested for starting a riot. The Plush Club has decided to close up its doors because of the bad rap it's been getting over the months with fighting and gunshots fired in or around it's area. It's also indicated that club is behind on mortgage payments and is closing for that reason as well.

A Pulaste, Tennessee woman was pulled over for speeding up to 46 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, but she sped off when the officer was writing the ticket only saying: "I'm pulling off!" The officer chased after the woman who went to their local town hospital. Running inside she was called to duty to deliver a baby! "That girl" was a doctor and her patient was in labor. After the labor, the doctor was arrested, but the mother pleaded with the police station to let her go, because she was only speeding to help come and deliver her babe. All charges of the speeding ticket on the doctor were dropped.
