The Signal Energy of Chattanooga Thursday won a $20.5 million state contract to be the lead contractor in designing and building the $31 million solar farm in southwest Haywood County. Memphis and West Tennessee were shafted in the because they will not be included in deal. This places less chances for higher employment in the Memphis and West Tennessee areas. The winning proposal was selected by the University of Tennessee, which will oversee the farm, and Signal's partners in the bid are predominantly from East Tennessee. Those circumstances feed perceptions that the Memphis area is too often an afterthought by the rest of the state.
I'll call that a Shaft! Leaving Memphis with the crumbs...

A 38-year old woman walked into a local Regis Bank flashed her gun and shafted the teller in a robbery. The unique robber was captured with a clear photo by bank security cameras. She wore a work uniform which included an apron. After about two days of investigations, police followed a tip will led to the arrest of the alleged female robber. Friday the woman was a taken into custody and will face charges of robbery and possible other charges.
She got called by the Shaft! What a cop out!

A 25-year old man was caught with his pants down at least his zipper was opened as he was arrested for indecent exposure. The man was said to have been engaging in a s*xual act of fondling himself in front of children in a public park. The accused was shafted with a shackle and is held on a $1000 bond.

Recently he was honored with a memorial highway in his name.
