The general idea behind a religion, is for the founder to say what will subdue everyone to himself, then claim it comes from a power higher than himself so it will be more readily believed by the unsuspecting, often with promises of paradise and threats of agony. He then will "initiate" others in his secrets so that they too can continue to control others and thus be taken care of by his followers after his death. The common ground between them is conscience, once poisoned with that, the ego is sure to follow it order to not suffer from conscience. "There are three types of persons in the world; those who create a large ego to fend off conscience, living in an illusionary world of success; those who fail in this and only create a lesser ego which becomes a wound, living in an illusionary world of misery, and the enlightened being who has neither ego nor conscience, and lives in the real world."

re·li·gion (from O.Fr. religion "religious community," from L. religionem (nom. religio) "respect for what is sacred, reverence for the Gods, "obligation, the bond between man and the Gods, is the belief in and worship a set of beliefs explaining the existence of and giving meaning to the universe, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. –noun 1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. 2. a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: 3. the body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices: Wiki and the dictionary say reverence of Gods, superhuman agency, body of persons explaining meanings, devotional moral codes governing human affairs. Steve has tackled Philosophy of Language and I enjoy his Scholarship, but understanding english or french language above gives me an logical thought that NASA, Roman Empire, Israel, Pharoah, USA, UN, paganChristianity, CIA, could fit the definition above. AlIslaam in the original Language of Arabic, teaches the Believer that their is One representation for the explaining of meanings, devotional moral codes governing human affairs. AlIslaam, provided for the human being in the Arabic Language, produces for the modern human the words, transliterated into english, Deen and Allaah. english inadvertently gives the meaning of Deen as religion----according to wiki and english dictionary meaning, the Believer does not accept religion as the meaning of Deen. english inadvertently gives the meaning of Allaah as god------and again, according to wiki and english dictionary meaning, the Believer does not accept god as the meaning of Allaah....... DeenAlIslaam is the meaning for the governance of human affairs and Allaah is the meaning for the Creator of all creation. those that have been disappointed in their study of paganMultiGod 'religions'; should feel comforted that there is a meaning and discipline for the governance of Human Affairs from The Creator of all creation is avaliable eventhough it has been deleted and Diverted from the Western History, Sociology and Scholarship--- The Believer is never living in a "world of misery". and understands that the Believer cannot have an ego, the Believer is created not creator..... that the living, death and purpose of the created is the sole understanding of The Creator.....
