If you listen to the rest of the world and some of the wrong pundits out there, you will start to think s*x, alcohol and many other derogatory
and debilitating things are truthful, but if you listen to the Word of
God, these same folks will rub shoulders with you and be at odds with
you for sharing the truth, rather than espousing their so called truth
and understanding. No matter how difficult it may be at times, don’t
ever compromise a truth for a lie. I have seen such people take root
and even prosper for a short period of time, but then time began to run
out on them, as their health, financial means and physical enhances and
aspirations started to change for the worse. So don’t ever neglect
truth for a measly lie; the lie will die out as does the person who
espouses and touts such things, but truth will never die as truth is the
same “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” as truth always corresponds to
reality, not a lie (Hebrews 13: 8).
The apostle Paul was a brilliant man as he was used by (God) the Holy Spirit. When an individual stands and speaks for truth, and remember
there is only one truth, as all truth exist from God alone (John 14: 6).
Some people may use extracts of truth, but the full understanding and
knowledge of truth comes only through Jesus Christ. That was why Jesus
exclaimed that the “truth will set a person free” (John 4: 24; 8:
31-32). This is the very question Pontius Pilate asked Jesus. In the
irony of the ages, he stood toe to toe with the personification of truth
and yet missed its reality completely. Postmodern people today who
espouse and grandiose s*x, and every other selfish motive under the sun,
and consequently discord through divisional racial epithets and tactics
are the worse kind of people who claim they have and know truth- They
stare at truth but fail to recognize its true identity! Truth is never
found or expressed through the vulgarity and many verbose self-exclaimed
explanations made by some. The same way that Pontius Pilate dealt
with truth when confronted face to face with it; is the same way many
today deal with truth as well- “I am innocent of this man’s blood, he
said, it is your responsibility” (Matthew 27: 24-26). Let me speak and
tout my own opinions, as I am right, and everyone else is wrong. When
one speaks forth the Word of God and others don’t like what is said, due
to their own guilt, they attack one personally and call others
hypocrites due to their own indiscretions, but this my friends is called
intolerance for truth, rather than tolerance for the truth of Christ.
“For he knew it was out of envy that they handed Jesus (The Truth) over
to him” Matthew 27: 18).
Paul knew exactly what it felt like when he watched and held the coats of those who stoned Stephen to death, as he expressed his concern and
forgiveness for those who would not stand by his side as he preached the
truth “At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone
deserted me. May it not be held against them! But the Lord stood at my
side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be
fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was
delivered from the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every
evil attack and will bring me safely to His Heavenly Kingdom. To Him be
glory for ever and ever Amen” (2 Timothy 4: 16-18),
Here is the kind of Fallacy Attack they propel on one who speaks the truth of God’s Word through any type of debate or dialogue with someone
against the truth of God’s Word:
“The Fallacy of Equivocation” (The use of vague terms, sometimes they start off using language we think we understand and then veer off into a
new meaning ).
“The Fallacy of Card Stacking” (The selective use of evidence-Many advocates are guilty of listing all the points in favor of their
position while ignoring the serious objections against it).
“The Fallacy of the Appeal to Authority” (Reliance on authority to the exclusion of logic and evidence- just because an expert says it).
“The Fallacy of Ad Hominem” (Latin- against the man- an attack against the person rather than the person’s argument).
“The Fallacy of the Straw Man” (The mischaracterization of an opponent’s argument in such a way that is easy to attack and knock down- example:
liberal commentators say that evangelical Christians want to implement
a religious theocracy in America).
“The Fallacy of Sidestepping” (The evasion or dodging of an issue by changing the subject-politicians do this in press conferences when they
do not answer the question a reporter actually asks, but instead answer a
question they wish someone had asked).
“The Fallacy of the Red Hearing” (The use of a tangent to distract an opponent from the issue in question-from the practice of luring hunting
dogs off the trail with a scent of a herring fish).
