During the Renaissance period, humanists challenged the academia for correctness. Established universities placed theology at the center post of study in the sciences. Humanists felt it was better to "will" the good upon others than to strive for the truth. Petrarch, one of the earliest humanist, insisted the art of persuasion had the potential to make more people live the good life. Not having much luck with the established universities, humanists worked as outsiders until they formed a type of scholastic freemasonry. they would get their consituenchy jobs and with their infiltration into the courts, humanists recommendations were favored bhy the eir prominent and power friends. Humanists stressed individualism and innovation, contrary to universities that operated on group therapy and a principle of public debate to extrude knowledge.
It was the humanists that encouraged Europeans to make explorations into Africa and take what they want, with limited attempt to civilize the barbaric black Africans who were unfit to rule, govern or be classified as true human beings. When the humanists got done with European elite, it was open season on all of Africa.
