As a consequence, Parental Training and Counseling is a central portion of THE WORK THAT HAS TO BE DONE giving parents the understanding and tools to create the necessary infrastructure for their children’s success. The problems black men face – from being the highest victim category of violent crime to heart attack and AIDS statistics – are mostly environmentally created. changing the environmental drivers that cause these problems. The church does indeed need an awakening. But UNITY can not be forged with "rude"; my brother we must love our broken and confused back to health and sanity. They/we are already the victims of hate, repudiation and minimalization; we cannot heal, empower and unify ourselves by perpetuating disdain and vitriol. Consider: it is only by rising above the fray that we can set a clear example for those who are lost and befuddled by/in the darkness.

Beautifully said and absolutely correct, yet Brotha David is also correct. Our boys do need to be schooled starting in the home. Problem is the father’s don’t know themselves how to teach, so Parental Training and Counseling is central to our continued existence like Brotha David sai, and yes Sista, we can’t do this unless peaceful progression is involved. Being hateful and preaching hate only eats you up inside.Others go on about their business. You can’t teach anyone when your vision is fogged with hatred.
A lot of churches are coming aboard. They are finally realizing that black men need an outreach and society is not offering it to them and if you don’t care for church, there are programs out there in most of our cities that also offer outreach. Problem is the programs need to come into the community, because the community is not going to go to them. Our black men are proud and hard up to admit that there are problems, but thank God that there is an awakening going on. I just pray its not too late.

I'm working on an assignment about adolescents, take a look and tell me how to improve on my responses.(today if possible)
2. Why do adolescents internalize the standards of their communities? They internalize the standards of the community when they learn to abide by the rules established by their group without being motivated by a need to avoid punishment for bad behavior. They conform and accept the rules as their own even though the rules were set by others.
Why do they become law-abiding citizens (or not)? Adolescents who have the ability to think abstractly begin to see themselves as part of their community. They begin to compare themselves and adapt to the morals of their communities standards, because abiding by the laws is a valid moral reason for co-existence.
How do social-cognitive theorists explain age-related changes in moral thought? Adolescents are exposed to others values and learn to imitate the observed actions of others. They recognize that others way of doing things is more valid then their own. Laws represent the ability of people to compromise in order to keep harmony with each other. They also learn that the making of laws involve a process where people within the society form a contract and agree to live by its terms. Adolescents form a better sense of how moral rules and regulation become a part of laws to teach people how to respect each other in society.
Does the social-cognitive approach do a good job of explaining moral behavior in your opinion? Yes, it does explain how the maturing mind internalizes social norms and the affect of its function from different perspectives.

LETS really get down to business and take this conversation to the light of the matter '
when i say rude awaking in the church i meant just that the playing church should stop and the church needs to stop with all its mess im not going to waste rtime listing the things that are wrong with the church this is bigger than that ! i believe in right now ,,,yes right at this moment if we open the doors to the church and allow a place of refuge for the mind ,body and spirit of the black youth , mothers and fathers then we can build on that right now ,,,once the people get there then they can be taught and educated in what has to be done to save the black youth ,,the are so many programs that can be put in motion that will assist the parents in raising there kids right now
stop letting the pastors open the church just on Sunday or bible study night hold the accountable to making a change and if every black church in America will take collective stand then we will see the light at the end of the tunnel ! where is Jessie Jackson when you need him ?

Hello to All,
This blog is nonsense. Let me explain why.
Black Americans were raising good children for years until White America interceded in the early 80s. White America through the schools began to tell Black children that if their parents disciplined them to immediately report it to the school officials.
What White America did was empowering the children against their parents. Many Black parents were hauled into court by Child protective agencies and in most cases their children were taken from them.
Again, our only permanent solution is that we must desire to become a sovereign people or have complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to worship God, pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity in our own way.
This nonsense about parental training and counseling is a bunch of hogwash and would only come from a person that does not know the history and circumference of Black America's ordeals.
Am I lying that White America did not intercede? Many Black parents just threw their hands up in the air. They did not know what to do or who to turn to.
What say you?

@Helen, the best thing you can do for yourself is to do a paper on how you would be better off if you stop making the same mistake as the O.J. simpsons and the Charley Rangel and the Justice Thomas and M. Steele about what happens when black people get sucked into that trap of "I am too good to be Black" (NUP)

Harry , for once I am gald to see you nonsense, and just like myths what you just said has some truth to it...but Harry because you as so many others have no knowledge that we in our race have a Black think tank...

Persoanlly in my form of thinking...if my child is living under my roof and recieving the things neccessary for life like food, water and shleter plus having shoes and clothes thrown in and all for free...
I dictate all of the rules whichmeans they have no legal rights that I recognize for the legal systems such as...if you parents does something you don't like get on the cell phone that they pay the bill on and call us...an't gona happen more then once!!!!!!!! (smile)
so please give this a little tought Helen...does your reports say that the children started taking guns to school before or after they got all of these legal rights?!?
