HAPPY HOLIDAYS! SEASONS GREETINGS!
& MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Dear Gardeners:

Hello! This holiday season doesn't have to have you longing for beautiful plants or flowers. On the contrary, this time of year can turn your entire home into a floral decor of beauty and plantlife for every room. Yes, there are flowers for your holidays and decorations of merry arrangements.

Poinsettias are the most popular:

Start off with a traditional Poinsettia. Live Poinsettias give a most lovely view to eyes of the beholding gardener. They add a most effective mood to your home giving it's red leaves of essences. Sit them in dining areas, living rooms, and even around Christmas trees as a oval floral decopage. Poinsettas come also in a white variety and is known by many as the ultimate Christmas flower. Poinsettias require very little attention and usually needs little watering about once a week. Their season of red leaves or white, only lasts about a month, and then you'll start to see their leaves falling off. Don't despair! Like many people they often throw them out after the holdiays are gone away! However, should you want to pend on keeping them for next year you have to insert a little skill of preserving them.

How does one save a Poinsettia for next year?

First you have to transpot them in order for them to stay alive. They become root-bound in the pots they are usually purchased in and normally die if not sought by your attention soon. You should manage care for them soon as the season of holidays end. Should you decide to keep them; changing pots is recommended. For a time there will be nothing to see but a straigt green stubs without leaves, but soon the leaves return between March and May. Your Poinsettia will have green leaves during that time period. Give them good lighting during the colder months, and in early spring they can be placed outside in mild hours sunlight. The soil will need to kept moist during hot summer days, but do not over water and so make sure your pot has draining portals. Then suddenly during their changing season you'll see the leaves turning slowly red or white. Ready for your next Christmas or holiday season.

There are other flowers to adorn your Seasons of Greetings:

Well, don't limit your ability to explore plant life in decorating! Mums in pots are pretty as well. You'll find the Amaryllis is a lovely addition to decors and don't forget the Christmas roses! If you just want something temporary, try adding fresh cut varieties from your florists. There is no excuses experiment as you learn. How will know if you don't give a try?

And Gardeners don't forget it's still not too late for planting bulbs for next spring or summer. Houses are anticipating to have lovely plants and flowers which you can add while putting out your decorations. You know inside yourself.. you really want to!

This is quite a long letter of sorts. Funny how time passes when you're enjoying writings about planting and living ecology right at your finger tips... I think I'll end this segment with lots of love for your holiday bouquets!

Star night, star bright!
Love and harmony,
MIISRAEL

You'll find them plentiful. They range from $12 dollars and up depending on where you shop. However, for those without a green thumb the fake ones make good centerpieces for highlighting the home. Those are the ones you can keep from Christmas to Christmas....uh.Uh!
