MANY WILL STILL REFUSE TESTING (551 hits)

December 1st is World Aids Day but still thousands will carry the traits of Hiv/Aids will refuse testing. The spread of Aids or HIV will never find a reasonable control if there are those who continue spreading the disease. It is regretably that many are not facing up to the responsibility of their own health, or those of others they have contact who also lead to spreading the disease more. The Aids epidemic has not ended, but is continously spread by those who are not reconizing the responsibility to come forth for treatment and to be tested. World Aids day is to assist in the awareness and education of the disease, as well as promoting preventive measures along with remembering those lives who have died of Aids.

THE DAY URGES: GET TESTED. STOP THE SPREAD.

True Imra it is a shame. They continue to risk spreading the disease rather practicing safety, or even just basic concern of another's life. A shame they carry a death sentence. It's dangerously frightening.

I don't worry for myself, as I practice abstenance but those careless about s*xual encounters I worry for the unknown husband, wife, boyfriend or girl friend or to even homos*xual community. I have a general concern of heart.

I hate to burst your bubble, but but being married doesn't negate one from being at risk of HIV/AIDS. Sure we all should trust our spouses, but their are women being infected on a daily basis with the virus they got from their husbands who are closet Gays or Bis*xual men on the "downlow".

HIV/AIDS has reached epidemic proportions in the Black community and the HIV/AIDS infection rate is higher in DC alone than in some African countries! I think that it would be advantageous if we all examine our perceptions about HIV/AIDS and educate ourselves with facts rather than preconceived notions that are based on myths or half truths. Black women are being hit especially hard with new HIV/AIDS infections. Let's all get real about what's really going on in our community.

Exactly Jen. We can't be fooled in thinking that even persons we trust are always loyal as we would have them be. We have to start with testing, and stop with spreading. Aids/HIV are at a revelant high. Education and protection--and if I have say refraining even for promisity of s*xual actvity are the keep one alive essentials. I think we need to get real and stay real. A role in the bed, ...could leave you very dead. That's real. Not pleasure.

And, it is such a shame that so, so many of these people will never even be able to get past, "I don't have to worry because I don't have s*x with gays or Black women, or I am married!!! (nup)
