THE CHRISTMAS HYPE! IT'S MY SURVEY (289 hits)

I conducted a Christmas Hype survey.
Speaking with only Black Americans in Memphis, I asked:

Are you going for a hyped up Christmas?

This is what Black Memphians said to my questions:

Most selected to say they are not going for the hype! By this they are meaning they are going back to a more traditional Christmas of family and not all business of buying lots of presents...which is fewer gifts.

Asked if they thought is was the economy?

About 70% said it wasn't. This percentage said they are wanting to have a more rewarding day. The other 30% in my survey said: It's money woes keeping them from the Christmas hype, still perferring the shopping and buying things, giving lots of presents as well as wanting them for themselves!

There was a small percentage of 2% who said:

They didn't know Christmas was hyped. .. If they had it to spend they'd be hyped up and out shopping and buying!

Well since the trend of Christmas traditional love is desired most, it's almost sure that those ways of the shopping for gifts and presents hasn't become oblete yet.

"Do you or don't believe the Christmas hype?"

"There are last minute shoppers remaining on alert."

My Christmas is always been centered around reflection on the Messiah. We are currently reflecting on that theme (Messiah) through Advent. It's really nice and not filled with stress of gift giving since the ultimate Gift has already been provided by God.

How beautiful. .... In my small survey there were those that mentioned they too liked the gift of Christ moreover gifts of the world. Sharing that with family and friends meant more to them thanthe hype of all the gifts and commerical spending of presents.
What a great comment!

So...you do shop some am I right? But your true celebrating is reflecting the Christ Child.

A great family day sounds wonderful. You & yours appear not to be overly taken by the commerical hype. Family and helping is a wonderful celebration...then dinner. Nice.

Irma, those a great tips for shoppers. My sister shops all year and wraps all Christmas season. She's a bargin hunter, so she'll shop now for next year--and all along the summer months.

It's a time-saver and some things you won't find around now at this Christmas time will be gone in those up coming months before next Christmas.

This Christmas, I am picturing more families together making home made gifts and spending more quality time with each other and less time out buying material things...more of those GOOD OLD DAYS CHRISTAMS. (SMILE)

It is going to be great for our youths as teaching moments about the true meaning of this holiday. lol (smile)

As for me personally...I learned from my thrifty baby sister to do my major Christmas shopping starting right after Christmas...I buy most of my next Christmas needs then...and enjoy all of the savings buying the over stocked merchandise left overs...

Try is I promise you will like it. lol(smile)
