I conducted a Christmas Hype survey.
Speaking with only Black Americans in Memphis, I asked:
Are you going for a hyped up Christmas?
This is what Black Memphians said to my questions:
Most selected to say they are not going for the hype! By this they are meaning they are going back to a more traditional Christmas of family and not all business of buying lots of presents...which is fewer gifts.
Asked if they thought is was the economy?
About 70% said it wasn't. This percentage said they are wanting to have a more rewarding day. The other 30% in my survey said: It's money woes keeping them from the Christmas hype, still perferring the shopping and buying things, giving lots of presents as well as wanting them for themselves!
There was a small percentage of 2% who said:
They didn't know Christmas was hyped. .. If they had it to spend they'd be hyped up and out shopping and buying!
Well since the trend of Christmas traditional love is desired most, it's almost sure that those ways of the shopping for gifts and presents hasn't become oblete yet.
"Do you or don't believe the Christmas hype?"
"There are last minute shoppers remaining on alert."
