Excellent read. A PERFECT 10! It is amazing and I was hooked on it from beginning to end. I received the book about two weeks ago and read it with admiration. This book deserves to be in every school classroom and public library because it shows that you can accomplish anything in life. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes historical fiction. The author's research on slavery is impressive and I think that he has really captured the thoughts and feelings of slavery that are very deep and hopeful. Overall it is one of the most phenomenal books I've ever read.

The book On The Wings of the Wind: The Untold Story of History’s First Flight is a fictional story based on historical facts lost to history. It is emotional, heartwarming and full of lessons from the past. The title evokes metaphorical experiences expressed by all who dreamed of freedom and a place they could call home, of dreamers whose dreams did not dry up like a raisin in the sun.
The author, Richard Kigel, uses quotes from famous people who kept their dreams alive regardless of adversity. Even though the first person narrative tells the story of a slave, anyone who reads this story can gain inspiration from the lesson in fortitude, character and perseverance. The use of the first person draws the reader into the story and helps form a personal relationship with the narrator. The author captured the soul of the characters and gives the reader a taste of the raw emotions of a people who are not supposed to feel at all.
Mr. Kigel’s ability to blend history, science and fiction into a plausible occurrence is unique and serves to add authenticity to the story. One has to remind oneself that the story is historical fiction.
