MALCOLM X'S DAUGHTER STORMS OUT OF NPR INTERVIEW OVER CLAIMS MADE IN NEW BOOK (2439 hits)

BET.com--After speaking against the claims made in the book soon after its release, Malcolm's third daughter Ilyasah Shabazz resurfaced on NPR to further dispute accusations of infidelity between her parents and Malcolm's supposed bis*xuality. In an interview with Michel Martin, Shabazz admits that she has not read the book, but rather "skimmed through it" and made it known that for a book that was decades in the making, she felt the research was "limited."

Later in the interview she stated that Alex Haley's autobiography on her father was more accurate and that the publishers of Marable's book broke a confidentiality clause. She also revealed that she had missing manuscripts from the book and never actually agreed to be interviewed for it, but rather had "discussions" with Marable.

Ten minutes into the interview, after attempting to answer questions about her father's murders, Shabbazz abruptly ended the interview and left.

After reading a few excerpts of this book on Amazon.com, you can understand why Malcolm's daughters were upset. I believe that if any of Malcolm's s*xual activity was indeed true, the FBI would have been exposed it to the public or used it against Malcolm while he was living.

Mom, I agree...she should have demanded that they come with REAL EVIDENCE or don't come at all...if you think Mr. marable's book was insulting, you should also read the excerpt from the book "Malcolm - The Life of a Man Who Changed Black America" where the author Bruce Perry openly stated that Malcolm worked as a gay male prostitute before meeting and marrying Betty Shabbazz.

Now any fool with half a brain knows no way in hell that if this was true the FBI wouldn't have brought it out when Malcolm was whooping his ass for 12 years. It amazes me how some folk go to extreme measures to publish one lie after another lie in their books just so it can sell...FOOLISH INDEED.

Lov, some still don't believe our president was born on OHau,that they are the only one never TO have done anything wrong...but this is America/ planet earth where the $$$$$$$ rules.

And, why I stick with this I learned in my critical thinking class...When abortion is discussed every thing but 'abortion' is disrussed...murder yes, how wrong taht person is, WHAT A SIN AND A SHAME TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS, but actual talking about abortion hell N-O! The class also taught if the persons in communication have already made up their minds that the other is wrong, then just talk about the weather. (smile)

I have said all of that to say this...she should have never done this interview on her personal emotions or even on her own truths...but with facts...as truth is always subjective without tangable proofs to dispute this...

One thing she should have done and only done...DEMAND ACTUAL PROOFS...IF NO ONE IN THE BOOK OR OUT OF THE BOOK HAVE ACTUAL P-R-O-O-F-S OF THIS THEN SHE CAN ONLY HLEP GET MORE OF THESE BOOKS SOLD WITH THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR.(NUP)
