FLOOD SIRENS SOUNDS OVER NORTH DAKOTA IS FOR MANDATORY EVACUATIONS (372 hits)

NATIONAL NEWS
JUNE 2011
22nd Day
Minot, ND

Hear the sirens...You must evacuate now!!

Flood sirens loudly over the town of Minot, North Dakota on Wednesday morning June 22, 2011 leaving residents with little time to gather up much but to leave quickly. This caused by waters flooding the entire city at an alarming rate. This flood is predicted to be the largest in the city's history reaching at 1,562 feet in flood waters which is slightly higher than one on record which covered the town in 1897. Residents frenzed by the sirens were scrambling to pack trailers on last evening, but those this morning were told to grab and go to higher ground immediately! The National Guard and Army Corps of Engineers abandoned the river banks early Wednesday as it became clear their work to slow down the flooding showed no relief of control. The mandatory evacuation zones covered about 1/3 or the city residents which involves approximately 4,500 house and 11,000 citizens.

Get out of there!!
Man..these floods and waters are troubled...
We have to remember though who's really in charge..

Much of the problems for North Dakotaians stem from the Province of Saskatchewan in Canada dealing with excessive rain during the Spring. They have had to open the dams to release some of the extra water which has caused flooding for N. Dakota similar to what happened in the States. Honestly the real culprit is excessive carbon emissions in the atmosphere causing Global changes and Global warming. Something has to be done to help ease the environment.

See the article below...
'Flood emergencies declared in 26 Sask. communities'
...'Following weeks of rain, hundreds of people in the southeast part of the province have been displaced from their homes — for a few days in some cases, but for longer in others. ...'
