Dear Gardeners:
JULY 2011
I am feeling in a most fantastic mood. I hoped that perhaps your mood is likewise fantastic! This morning I notice a most beautiful watering….it rained the night before and left a fresh clean smell over the earth. If you can really relate to a soft rain you’ll know exactly what I saw. I have some decorative cabbage growing in a pot on my porch it’s a purple head and it is absolutely stunning. It’s a pet so I won’t eat off it. Let me go back to the rainfall. I also noticed my son left my back car windows down and my seat has a most abstract watermark on both sides…..I’m about lose that fantastic mood.
Last week I visited the a local Farmer’s Market. I gathered up some really home grown tomatoes and gazed at the blueberries and ears of corn. Just so you know if you don’t grow your own veggies, the Farmer’s Market is one great way you’ll be able take home some very healthy veggies. Most Farmer’s Marketers are local and are usually easy to find. If not, you can search the web to find one locally where you live. Prices vary, but most times they are affordable. Those who live locally in Memphis may not know it but our Argricenter Farmer’s Market is celebrating 25 years of business! Opening in 1986.
Veggies aren’t the only things you can find at a Farmer’s Market. You can find preserves, honey, fruits, and even flowers. If you haven’t experienced such a variety of goods you have missed a calling…LOL! Urban cities know all about it and it’s so very familiar to see vendors selling their goods. I’m in for a great tasting watermelon and I can also see one of these on every other street corner in Memphis. Picking a good one I’m taught is one which makes a nice hollow sound. I really think that works.
Don’t want to bore you with another long drawn out letter….but I love writing to Dear Gardeners cause I like you. I share a letter of myself, some of my thoughts and good vibes. That’s truly a great taste of character. You think I should give a fuss at my Son? Ahhh…to the youth! I’m prone to being much like a youthful person. It’s so breezy.
I’ll write ya’ soon enough. Have a summer’s break with the Farmer's Market of summer’s fruits and veggies.... and lastly...An enjoy a of summer's rain.
So... Tell me how does your gardens grow?
I’d surely love to know…
Mine grows with lots of love..
Toodles,
MIISRAEL
