Hundreds of volunteers and thousands of homeless needy persons received and also shared in fellowship with Thanksgiving. Locals volunteered gave up most of their day from their own families to help distribute meals of Thanksgiving to others. The annual dinner is held each year at the Memphis Cook Convention Center in downtown Memphis. At least 1,200 people showed up for a traditional meal donated by the City of Memphis. What takes part is volunteering as they assisted in distributing and became servants to the less fortunate among Memphis's poor and homeless. Without the free meal, many of them would not have tasted a Thanksgiving dinner today. Volunteers who help feel extra special --as they should in giving up their own time to hand out; and give a hand to others much fortunate today.

A 6 year old boy was struck by a day-care bus driver on Monday, November 21nd as he left school. The day-care bus driver struck the young man by a curve as he was waiting for his sisters before leaving school. The fatality left many unanswered questions as to how the freak accident happened. The day care owner has also been investigated for a past mishap that left a day-care child unattended on a bus for hours. Since then, this recent happennings the day care neglect has caused a ban for anymore pick-up services to it's customers. The day care owner quoted it was an awful accident that really hurts. "We're all hurting" "We are praying for the family and the community." "We ask their prayers too..it's tough." she said. Parents of the young man are in mourning considerably as well. A candle light vigal was held to the 6 year old on Thanksgiving eve. The mother of the young man, her only boy child did not attend.
