His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet left today to address Global Buddihist Congregation in New Delhi. Despite strong objects from China to have him present. The Buddist Congregation is in it's second day with scholars debating points in Buddisth philosopy and morality. China objected to His Holiness attendance and warned India to cancel the conference which is expected to have attendance of 900 Buddist Scholars and others from 46 countries. A spokesman from a Chinese foreign ministry, Hong Lei was quoted as saying "We oppose any country that provides a platform for his anti-China activities, in any form." Speaking at one of the conferences venues Mr. Tempa Tsering, chief representative of His Holiness stated how Buddist philosopy and experiences and teachings can help humanity. "India is a free, democratic society, China is a closed society....That's why they are reacting ina paranoid manner." he said. The Dalai has been a guest of India for the last 52 years.
