New police video of the night George Zimmerman shot and killed teen Trayvon Martin has just been released. Aired on CNN's Anderson Cooper AC 360 on Wednesday night, the 28 year old self-appointed neighborhood watchman is seen in handcuffs as police brought him in after the shooting.
Watch his head and face closely. Remember his lawyer and faithful friend Joe Oliver have been singing all last week and the past few days about the vicious attack and beating Zimmerman alleged received at the hands of 17 year old Trayvon Martin.
Remember Zimmerman's lawyer and friend speaking on his behalf on what they say happened. Remember Trayvon supposedly bashed his head into the sidewalk repeatedly. Remember Trayvon supposedly broke his nose. Remember he allegedly fell on is back and had a gaping wound at the back of his head that required stitches, though he had not gone to any emergency room.
Watch the video. There are no visible injuries to Zimmerman's head or face or nose except a slight bump. Nothing to indicate he was beaten so badly, he feared for his life and had to shoot the teen in self-defense. Thankfully it is 2012, the age of the video tape and not a bygone era when this would have been covered up forever.
Why the Sanford, Florida police department sat on this information for over a month as the media speculation and the public's heated and at times deeply divided debate raged on over Zimmerman's self-defense story, is beyond me. Just what was their motive?
