Location: Burlington, VT United States Position Type: Full Time Post Date: 08/31/2012 Expire Date: 10/31/2012 Job Categories: Education, Training, and Library Job Description EAS Director Recruitment EAS Director Recruitment Director of Enterprise Applications Services (EAS) - Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) Responsibilities: Under general direction of the Associate Vice President/CIO, and as a member of the Enterprise Technology Services management team, the Director of EAS provides leadership for planning and implementation of, and ongoing support for, the University of Vermont’s administrative information systems. Major enterprise systems in the EAS portfolio include PeopleSoft/Oracle HCM (human resources), Finance, and EPM (budgeting) modules; Ellucian’s Banner for student information systems; Accruent’s FAMIS facilities management system; KRONOS time keeping system; Ellucian’s Luminis web portal system; and the AppXtender document imaging system that supports several client offices. A number of SaaS services are provided by external vendors, and EAS is responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of the integration of those services into the University portfolio. The Director of EAS provides leadership for a staff of 16 professionals who support those systems and is responsible for the recruiting, mentoring, professional development, and administrative supervision of those staff. Working with a team of six ETS directors and with the Director of the Business Process Redesign Team, the Director of EAS provides overall institutional leadership for planning, policy, and operations for enterprise information technology services for the University, with a particular focus on administrative applications. The Director has primary responsibility for identifying and developing opportunities to exploit new technologies and services in support of the University’s core student, financial, facilities, and human resource business offices. Exercising that responsibility requires the development of an active collaborative partnership with senior University business offices, with the Business Process Redesign Team, and with colleague Enterprise Technology Services directors. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required; a Master’s degree in a related field (business administration, information systems) would be advantageous. Candidates must have at least eight years of experience with increasing responsibility in an organization responsible for implementing and maintaining information systems; at least five years of experience in an ERP information systems application software environment, preferably in a Banner or PeopleSoft ERP application development environment; prior supervisory experience is required; experience leading the definition of application requirements, research and evaluation of options, and implementation of new information services is required; prior experience with data warehouse, business intelligence, or institutional research are preferred; integrity, strong interpersonal skills, and effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
