Okay the reason that I posted this blog is because of the historical significance of it's presence in Harlem... yeah....
The first Applebee's restaurant is located at 125th Street and Fifth Avenue, the same location where the Hebrew Israelite School where High Priests Yaiqab, Arayah, and Shar presided over the congregation.
On December 10th, 2012, NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, Doc Oz, Brooklyn Nets President Brett Yormark, and Tiki Barber (not pictured) joined together for the opening of the first super-green, eco-friendly Applebee’s in the East River Plaza on East 117th Street.
The ribbon-cutting event marked the second Applebee’s restaurant to open in Harlem with the first opened on 125th Street and Fifth Avenue in 2011. The crowd showed much love to Dr. Oz, Comm. Kelly, and Tiki as they posed for quick shots with their fans. Photographs by Rudy Collins.
