
BREAKING NEWS: Jesse Jackson, Jr., wife charged with federal crimes
Federal charges were filed Friday against former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. which include conniving to spend $750,000 in campaign contributions for personal expenses. His wife, former Chicago Alder-lady Sandi Jackson is charged with filing false joint tax returns.

Mr. Jackson, 47, now faces federal, felony charges which include conspiracy, making false statements and mail wire fraud. Criminal information made public was field in the Washington, D.C. United States District Court.
FOX Chicago News reports: “Defendant Jesse L. Jackson, Jr. willingly and knowingly used approximately $750,000 from the campaign's accounts for personal expenses” that benefited him and his co-conspirator, who was not named in the one-count criminal information filed in the case. The filing of a criminal information, rather than an indictment, ordinarily signifies that a defendant is preparing to plead guilty.Jackson, Jr. faces a maximum of five years in a federal penitentiary and $250,000 in fines. Mrs. Jackson could face three years in jail and $100,000 in fines, but Tom Kirsch, Sandi's attorney says, “the agreement does not contemplate a sentence of that length.”
