Hi Fam and Friends, today we celebrate Soul Searching Sunday! During this celebration I would like to encourage Everyone as human beings created in God's image to look around Us at the things that are happening in the world today. And realize that it's not skin deep it's soul deep. It's easy to sit back and judge someone not realizing that the reason it’s hard to see the picture is because You're in the frame. However, I implore You today to step out of the frame today. It's easy to look at a situation and see black, white, red or yellow when the message is clear...in actuality there is no color...because We've overlooked the spiritual part. It's not about color it's about insight on good vs. evil. I don't see color I see spiritual warfare. For as the Bible asserts, "We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). It really doesn't matter what color Jesus was when He walked the earth. What matter is when God sent His Son as an advocate for Our sins He did not base our redemption on the color of Our skin. After Jesus suffered, bled, and died for our sins and descended into Hell and took the keys of death away from satan and ascended into heaven following His baptism it brought opportunity for ALL to have eternal life. The Holy Spirit is just that...a spirit having no color. Love has No color. Guess what evil represents darkness yet it too is a spirit. Look beyond the color and look at the spiritual aspects behind the situation. Don't act in haste and propagate, hate, discrimination, and segregation all of which enables exacerbates the evil in the world. As I tell my daughters, do not let Your actions give the devil a reason to hi-five and/or dap His demons for a job well done. Instead, let's Wake up, Stand up, get Prayed up and stay Up. Please pray, let Your actions do the walking by protesting in peace with dignity, let Your fingers do the talking by signing petitions to bring justice. Seek to unite with like-minded individuals from all walks of life who share Our passion for justice and form cohesion to support the cause. This is what happened during last year’s presidential campaign where I served as the only woman of color on the Women for Obama committee and as the Training Coordinator for Organizing for America in my area. We from All walks of life worked towards a common goal and achieved it. Therefore, I speak from experience when I say, Don't sit back talk, point fingers and judge. We don’t need any Monday Morning quarterbacks sitting on the sideline giving commentary after the fact. If You choose not to walk the talk and get in the game please quietly have a seat. I encourage You to count Your blessings and embrace the good things that life brings. Remember that You R FAB-Favored And Blessed in so many ways.
