Examiner.com--According to Fox News on Oct. 17, O.J. Simpson wants to become a televangelist. It has been reported that Simpson, 66, wants to host a religious television show after getting out of prison.
His manager and promoter Norman Pardo calls Simpson a prophet. He says:
“O.J. is very religious now, and he’s been counseling other inmates with Bible studies for months. When I talk to him on the phone, all he wants to discuss is religion. He’s obsessed!”
According to the reports, Simpson's manager said negotiations are in the works for a TV deal. He is expecting Simpson to be out of prison by Christmas when the project can begin.
Simpson's show will be called Holy Safari where he will travel around the world exploring local ideologies and interviewing world religious leaders including the Pope.
The Daily Mail has learned that Simpson has always been religious, but his five years in prison have given him time to focus on religion and have brought him closer to God.
Simpson says that he spends his time reading the Bible, the Quran and other religious texts. He also gives advice to his fellow inmates. A source added that Simpson has been inspired by TV Evangelist Frederick Price.
Despite what will likely be a negative reaction to putting the former running back on television, Pardo insists there's a lot of religious people who are behind this. They feel if Simpson found the Lord, it’s important. Comparing Simpson to the biblical Job, Pardo said Simpson is the best person for the message of God.
The former actor and football star is currently in prison, serving a 33-year sentence for criminal conspiracy and kidnapping among other things.
While serving time, he has converted many inmates to Christianity, including a white supremacist cell mate.
