@Misreal Great post, the heart key is the key to most problems. I find that most people, who feel they need to have someone, tell them constantly that they love them, have self-love problems. Parent finds it hard to convince their child of their love because they have to reprimand them and show them how to exist with others. It broke my heart to overhear an angry parent tell her child to sit still and be quiet or she was going to punch her right in the face. No matter how much future love she gives that child the child will always remember those mean words.

Thank you Sisters! We must not neglect how important love is. God is love and teaches us his loving kindness. Helen it's disturbing to hear what some parents say to their own children, then they wonder later when they have grown up what caused of their children to go astray?

I don't like to interfere with parents reprimanding their children but I have heard a lot of things that upset me. A parent whipping a child and saying "I brought you into this world and I'll take you out" or a parent calling their male child a sissy if their afraid of something. As a parent I know that you could tell your child you love them a thousand times but they erase it from their minds whenever you discipline them or try to stand in the way of them hanging out with the wrong friends. There has to be clear definitions about the different types of love!

@Helen: I agree with you, I don't like to interfere either, but if I see that a child is suffering with an abusive parent I think at that time I would. It's evident that some parents go overboard in reprimanding children and haven't given the sound reasoning of loving them. Love doesn't cause conditions that hurt; but offers correction that directs the child's awareness to be better. So many times parents do not give the nourishing love and it could be they don't really understand what to do. God has to be the love in the heart, if not another child can grow up with the same effect and carrying on the same abuse to the next generation. I believe it has to be a devoted love to God in order to display any type of love. When God is left out of your heart, love can take directions away from sincerity of the love to be displayed thusly; deception appears. I go back to what Jeni said "we need to emulate for God is love!" And also, I love your comment too!..."There has to be clear definitions about the different types of love!"
