Judgement Call (292 hits)

I believe that the justice system should change. I have seen a person such as a "dealer" or a "user" , get life or 35 years in prison. However, if someone takes a life, in any manner, gets 5-10 years and out again? Shouldn't that be the other way around? There is a man that kidnapped, and rape a woman, and cut her arm off and leg.She became so messed up. Yet, he received a lite sentence and was released. He was out for a month and did it again but was more horrible than before. Now the "system" gave him life. However, a "dealer" or "user" like stated before gets a stiff sentence from the beginning. Is this making a point of be a killer and get off, yet drugs gets you the slammer for life. What is really sad is that the "user" or "dealer" could be mostly black. Knowing that if they could have a different or a chance to do it again would they change their mind? How can the "system" make a difference if the ones in there are already getting robed?

I will answer you this question with a question, If a dealer sells to 100 people and destroys the lives of those 100 people plus those closest to them (the buyer) by two, that is 300 lives affected, is it now more worthy of a longer sentence? Now compare that to the person that kills one time, even if you added two people thats still only 3 lives. I know this example may seem far fetched, and the lost of one life is too much, but In my 19yrs of law enforcment I have seen such examples more than I could number. No sin is greater or less than the next, wrong is wrong and sin is a first class ticket to hell unless you repent.

I forgot to add my last part to that last response. I know a lot of dealers and I have yet to see them repent and stop selling because it is harmful to others. Ann most murders are drug related, just FYI

I must admit yes, a sin is a sin no matter what it is. Yet in still all should be punished the same for if they all "killed" a life shouldn't they get life?
All I can say we can not judge, yet in still the justice system can come up with a reform to "help" the situation at hand. A change must come for the "quick" rich stunts that come with a high price-life.
