Learn More To Earn More/The Wisdom in Wealth and Health Workshops by Esther Pinkston (5646 hits)

"The fact that an African American College graduate's income is almost on par with her white counterpart illustrates the importance of getting a formal education. Recent figures indicate that African American College-educated women earn an average of $18,000 and that their white counterparts earn $20,000. There can be little doubt that education has helped African Americans females increase their earning power, and we hope the salary gap will decrease even more.
Conversely, the African American female who does not have a formal college education has one of the lowest earning potentials in America. Many are forced to depend on government assistance programs to provide a steady income. Households headed by these women, with an annual income of approximately $5,000 a year. represent a large portion of the poorest African American households.
Whether you already have a college degree or are still trying to earn a GED, you must always take the time to pursue additional education and training a person has, the more money that person can earn. More importantly, recent surveys have pointed to the fact that our nation is divided by two sectors-the well educated and well paid and the poorly educated and poorly paid. The choice for African American women is clear;
you can learn more and earn more, or you can learn less and earn less."
