In a 4-3 decision, the Ohio Supreme Court upheld same-day voter registration and absentee ballot casting. According to the AP, "Obama's campaign has organized car pools beginning Tuesday from college campuses to early voting sites. The Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless is ferrying voters from homeless shelters to polling sites in the Cleveland area. Other organizations that seek to increase poor and minority participation in elections are transporting voters from low-income neighborhoods. The targeted voters have all traditionally had a harder time getting registered, and then getting to polling places on Election Day."

My take on this is that the aggressive voter registrations drive caught the Republicans by surprise. The Democarts outsmarted them, Homeless people including, VETERANS, people in hospitals,nursing homes, and hospices HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE. WE JUST FORGET ABOUT THEM.

Wow, the combination of same-day registration and early voting is something I had not thought about.
What is Ohio's method for same-day verification of voters who register? The speed with which verification can be carried out has been for me a drawback about EDR, and when you see how many people have registered this year without same day registration, it at least makes me wonder if all along the problem has not been convenience - it has been a compelling candidate and critically important issues.
