Real and Blind Sides of Spirituality Posted on 10-12-2009

MIISRAEL
Memphis, TN

Just recently, only a few days ago I happened by a story of a young woman who went on what she thought, and perhaps it was to her a spiritual quest.   She took on a sweat sauna resort that was designed to induce a spiritual cleansing.   Her health was good, and the story stated she was in good shape.   Something went terribly wrong, and in sweating she and another in her group died from conditions related to overheating the body. Surely, she may have been mislead as what the real sides of spiritualities are.

A definition of spiritual is : of the spirit or the soul distingushed from the body or material matters.

The real side of spiritual can be done without devices or instruments to aid.  Spiritual is a connection of mind, body and soul that usually is relating to closer a relationship with God and Jesus.  So many things today can mislead one into thinking something is spiritual, when actually it's not really spiritual at all.

Many misleading spiritual things are easy to attain in a physical world.  Like exercises, practices of performing acts with you body and certain kinds foods of meditations.  It has a broad selection.

I practice spirituality of Jesus Christ.  Who teachings is that God is Spirit and to worship and serve him you must be in spirit and in truth.  This is part of the Holy Spirit that is a gift of Jesus to those who keep, trust, obey and follow his commandments.  Practices of meditating on the Lord of Heaven, a God of Spirit.  I find this is the real side of spirituality.

Many times, mankind's spiritualities are false, and they do not always work.  If only we look to heaven times, then we find the True Spirit of God.  Look elsewhere can find you blind and can lead to your death.

John 6:27:  Do not look for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which  the Son of Man will give you.  On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.

May God bless you with the real Spirit.

What great additions to this topic!  Learning of Spirituality gives us an open mind to receive deepest secrets of God.   The Holy Spirit communicates within us and gives us life.

Scriptures are opened to reveal a new more detailed informant of God's Word.  It's amazing that when the Holy Spirit reveals us things we are abound with awe!  For example the following scripture accounts to my statement.

"It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh proftis nothing.   The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life."--Jesus Christ   John: 6:63   0  The Word is God's own Spirit in writings.

Did you understand that!   "Words I speak  are spirit."

Miisrael when I read this post, I immediately thought of the scripture in (Spirits in the Bible 1 John 4:1   http://biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20John%204:1&version=NIV

In 1 John, John tells us that not all spirits are trustworthy. We should test each spirit to make sure it comes from God.
This is such a timely post because after the World Trade Center Attacks and the Attack on the Pentagon, there was a 'seeking' by people throughout the world for spirituality in order to find meaning and try to make sense out of what happened on that day to their loved ones.  Some people were able to find spirituality through various methods whether it was through detoxing, cleansing, meditation, counseling, nature, or going to church.

In all these things we have to be careful, because not everything that glitters is gold.  We are warned to test the spiritual world or realm to be make sure that the thing we are meditating on is the One True and Living God, the Father of Our Lord Jesus, the Christ.  Sometimes if we aren't careful, we invite forces unknowly into our lives that can harm us rather than make our lives better.  I found a video of a movie director (David Lynch) in Hollywood who uses ttranscendental meditation to create horror movies so we know what the end result of his meditations are.  We must be careful. Pay special attention to section 5:19 of the dark films he's been able to make from his meditations.

I don't know how my response jumped to the bottom, but all I wanted to do was reply that I understand totally what you said regarding the spirit and I love the way the Holy Spirit is doing what He's doing on your blog!!!! If we can all just become more in tune to the Spirit of God, we can get instructions and direction on how to make ourselves ready for the coming of Jesus for the Bride (church) that He wants to be without spot or blemish at that great day when we'll all be caught up with Him in the Sky. God bless you Miisrael and keep on giving us at BIA the Word of God. ((hugs))

0 Marvelous observation Sister Jen!  It is few that understand this whole bridal conception I'm bringing.  I am to present it in this manner, because it is how I am obedient to my calling.   I am not looking to gain a following of any people, nor am I generating some kind of cult,  no, never!-- but I only to make ones more aware of the Lamb's bride called the new Jerusalem.

Because there are but really few who understand spirituality; which is why often there are others who are not aware of the glorious relationship they can have with God's own Holy Spirit.  If one is of the Spirit he or she has a spiritual relationship with God.  This is gained by worshipping and living a spiritual filled life with God.   A total commitment of your own spirit to him.

What a wonderful relevant passage you gave.. and in adding to this fulfilment read more how one will go about testing the Spirit in this way too,--That no one that is of God will be accursed and by doing so-- no one knowing God's spirit can bare himself witness of Jesus except it is by the Holy Spirit.

Observe in the following passage:   Therefore,  I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit!  [1 Corinthians 12:3]

We find that Spirituality is how we truly should be in worship and obedience.  I have experienced much by the Spirit of God and it is his Holy Spirit that teaches me more on how to discover becoming a spiritual body of holiness.  I will continue with what is for me to do here in BIA, and with the Spirit and the bride  I tell of the prophecy of his bride.  Marvelous Spirit of Jesus who has prepared a place for those who will Come and believe.  I'm elated with joy!  Jesus is Lord!0

Hugs to you and much love and thanks!0
