Can someone please tell me what is wrong with the rationale of Black Americans? Posted on 07-03-2009

Hello,

Can someone please tell me what is wrong with the rationale of Black Americans?

Okay, let me explain myself. Black Americans know that they are a different people from other people in America including White people. Black Americans know that our history, beginning in slavery and now subjugated people in America is distinctly different from other people.

Now here is my point, I scan the blogs every now and then to understand the mentality of Black in America. What I see, is that we are forever complaining about our circumstances. I see bloggers reminiscing the past, I guess to keep us mindful of how far we have come.

However, when a permanent solution is offered that would resolve the problems, every one frowns their faces as if though they just smelled a pile of sh*t. The permanent solution of course is to become a sovereign people or have complete independence on a portion of this continent that we can call our very own country with borders.

Therefore, can somebody Black tell me what the heck is it that Black Americans wants, or do Black Americans have the intelligence to know what they want?

What say you? 0

First of all, my name is not Rachel, it is Racquel.  Secondly, I know ther is a difference between segregation and sovereignty, what I said in my profile pertained solely to Black people, not Black an White America.  Thirdly, the difference between Chinese people and Japanese people is not race, same with bolivians and peruvians....you are speaking nationalities here.  Black and Whites in America are the same nationality and therefore your comparison is entirely inaccurate.  Yes Blacks and Whites are 2 different races, but race is a socially constructed concept created as a way to categorize people.  Therefore, most of these behaviors etc. are learned.  How can you expect to have a sovereign nationa within a nation, that is ridiculous on a number of levels; one being the fact that the U.S. would never grant such a thing.  But on another note, you compare this to Moses leading his people out of Egypt....exactly, he led his people out of Egypt, not to a corner and set up shop.  To accomplish what you say would solve our problems would be to lead Black people out of this country to establish themselves elsewhere which has been tried and does not yield the desired results.  We are not as different from White people as we think we are.  Currently the difference lies in who has the power and the color of the skin, which even that becomes blurred.  When you understand that my mindset is not a roadblock to healthy dialogue and may even be beneficial for your stimulation, then we can actually move on and make this discussion worthwhile.

Oh.  Yay.  Let's repeat or amplify segregation.  *said with extreme sarcasm*  Considering I have a problem with both White people and Black people mainly, why would I want to be isolated with either/or?  Some of us who wear Black skin aren't accepted even by "their own people".  Who cares if your idea is radical or extreme.  I frankly find it impractical and narrow-minded.  Do you really think Black America is made up of individuals that are alike enough to have less problems when grouped together?  It would take work, and right now we are too complacent as a people.  We are too happy with the status quo.  I am sure you didn't mean your idea to be taken literally, but wow.  Our problem is that we don't think honestly about the changes we need to make as individuals, communities, a culture and then as a WHOLE American society along with ever other race and ethnicity.  I would be bored and miserable in an all Black sovereign nation.  Plus, my wife is white.  Haha.

To be honest, I believe some blacks want the same as whites, some blacks want things that is not realistic, and some blacks are just clueless no matter how much a solution is provided.  That is where the dreamcrushers/haters come into play, which you must try to ignore and use it against them and build strength.  I hope that makes a lot of sense. I for one, want a better society and fairness for all, but I also want our mothers and fathers to own up to their responsibility before allowing their children to get out and cause havoc on the communities.  This is why I get involved by volunteering, lobbying and motivating people to go for the unusual.

Hello Ms. Kimberly,

Let me comment on your profile rather than on your comment to my blog, about Black American’s rationale.

This is what you said in your profile, “If we are to be separate, it should not be on the basis of race.”

Well, the country of France is separate from the country of Brazil, because these two countries are racially different. Now, the country of Japan is separate from the country of China, because both these two countries are racially different. Consequentially, being separate could only be because of race, Ms. Kimberly.

Common sense tells you that people are already-separated based on race. That is how God meant it to be.

Most Black Americans complicates everything because they see everything complicated.

I believe that you do not have all of thinking ducks in a row.

What say you?

Hello Ms. Racquel,

I had been waiting on your reply for quite some time and did not realize you had already replied.

Anyway, we are on the same page that segregation and separation are two different items.

Now, you said this, "Thirdly, the difference between Chinese people and Japanese people is not race ...you are speaking nationalities here."

Let us peel the onion back a little more; nationality is involved. However, nationality is secondary to race. See, most countries are named based on or after the race of the people, since that particular race of people owns the real estate of that country.

For instance, the real estate of America is named after White people. Therefore, the nationality of White people is America as well as all other races living in America.

Consequentially, since Black American people still belongs to White people, everything about Black Americans would be based on whatever White people desire until Black Americans become a sovereign people or have complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent that you could call our very own country with borders.

Okay, you acknowledge that Blacks and Whites are two different races and that is my focus and not nationality.

But of course, you are right that the nationality of Blacks is the same as Whites, only because Blacks are a subjugated people and White America. I already agreed with you on that, but nationality is secondary.

Now, you said this, "Yes Blacks and Whites are 2 different races, but race is a socially constructed concept created as a way to categorize people."

This is not true, race is more than a socially constructed concept created to categorize people.

Here is one of the fundamental definitions of race, "A collection of people with distinct physical characteristics that are passed on through reproduction."

Therefore, kinky hair, as opposed to straight hair is not a learned behavior. Broad nose as opposed to a narrow nose is not a learned behavior. Slanted eyes of a Japanese person as opposed to the straight eyes of a White person are not a learned behavior. The distinct physical characteristics that are passed on through reproduction distinguish one race from another are real and not just a social constructed concept.

Black Americans are as different from White people and any other people enough that we should want to be an autonomous people.

Incidentally, I said, a portion of this continent, we will inherit from our ancestors, which will become our very own country, with borders. This is different from Moses leading his people out of Egypt, since the Hebrew people had nothing to do with the making of Egypt, while Black Americans had everything to do with the making of this country.

I am happy to read that your mindset is not a roadblock to healthy dialogue that we can move on and make this discussion worthwhile.

What say you?

Hello Ms. V,

Basically, Veronica I understand that you want good. I believe there is so much for you to understand, and it all starts with a desire to become an autonomous people.

We must have a situation that cannot be influenced by a race different to ourselves, mainly White American people.

Right now Veronica, we are a subjugated people and for us to accomplish anything we must come into a situation of having a country of our own on a portion of this continent.

We are a different people from White American people and their ways have always governed us. We need to come into a situation where we can govern ourselves or else nothing is workable for us.

I am not discouraging you at the moment from volunteering or lobbying and motivating our people. However, I want you to understand that nothing is workable until you come into a situation of sovereignty or have complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent we could call our very own country with borders.

Again, we are going to inherit a portion of this continent from our ancestors. Picture in your mind this portion to be from North and South Carolina border to the Canadian border and from the Mississippi River to the Atlantic Coast line.

What I tell you it is going to happen.

What say you?

Very interesting harryw,  I do believe it will happen.  It is written, but in order to get there I believe we must stay humble and not become hostile as we approach those days.  I know people thought just because we have a black president that they do not have to be responsible, that is unfortunate.  However we should be doing more and understand ourselves better before taking on something and sounding hostile in the process.  In order to learn and express ourselves with each other and to the world we cannot continue fight against each other, but learn from each other.  I think this is why our ancestors had a difficult time because everyone was not willing to sacrifice.  We also, have to understand we still need each other no matter in the south or north of the US, it is just how we each as responsble individuals communicate.  No matter where we live, we will always deal with whites in some form of fashion, whether it is food, industrial, financial, education, etc.  The key thing is to not think like they do, but learn from their behavior the way they have learn from us to use it against us.  Good example, is discplining children, destroying education and building jails.  All these are havoc on our communities that will force us further away that you speak of if we do not take back our own first.  Sovereign will not exist if we do not get a handle on the examples I pointed out.

I am extremely amused at your incautious flinging of the words "common sense".  Common sense and knowledge can go hand-in-hand or can be very different from the other.  Sir, I believe you are in great need of knowledge right now.  Common sense would dictate that you understand the biological and sociological basis of the term "race" before spouting fallacious opinions.

Race, from a sociological standpoint, has historically been determined by real or imagined physical features in our American culture.  Biologically, a person may be genetically dissimilar to another individual sharing similar or identical racial traits.  You have confused race with ethnicity.  Ethnicity is determined by culture, nationality faith or even language.  Individuals sharing ethnicity usually share governmental boundaries such as those described by you (i.e. Japan not being the same as or connected to China), this is not necessarily the case as it pertains to race.

Race, then, is undoubtedly sociologically created and defined.  It is constantly redefined as society is in constant flux within in its individual parts as well as a whole.  Therefore perspectives change and thus our social definitions and rules.

I always appreciate a "friendly", intelligent and well informed debate.  I do very much look forward to your reply.

Man oh man, I don't know where to start.  WE have to change US, we have to teach ourselves as Black People, to take care of our own.  Yes intelligent young black people in the streets with no guidance, that's gotta come from us. The greatest journey starts with a single step.  Let's start now...everyone reading these threads, how can we start making a difference?  Let's get a plan...let's do, not talk let's do.  Talk to other members of your family that feel the same way, your coworkers, friends.

I understand you clearly my dear brother and it bothers me more than you probably think. A solution must be found but how can we fix the problem if we cant fix ourselves? Check out my website and tell me what you think. Are we on the same page?
