University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is a metropolitan university with an enrollment of more than 8500 students offering baccalaureate degrees in 46 fields and masters in 17. Founded as a private university in 1886, it became a primary campus of the University of Tennessee in 1969. Its 100-acre campus is located in Chattanooga, a mid-sized city that has been featured in US News and World Report and Parade as one of America’s most livable cities. This family-friendly city has gained international attention for its downtown and riverfront development, public and private partnerships, excellent quality of life and reasonable living costs. The campus is in the revitalized downtown area and has been an integral partner in the nationally recognized renaissance of Chattanooga. The university’s private endowment, currently valued at more than $100 million, enables UTC to maintain academic excellence beyond that funded by state appropriations.
