The primary responsibility of the Coord Mail Scan Ops is to support internal customers through research, prep, and scanning of transactional documents into workflow system.  Under direct supervision performs both routine and non-routine clerical support to the Empower organization. Receives mail via USPS, or express carriers. Sorts hardcopy mail for distribution and attaches appropriate cover sheets. Sorts electronic mail and forwards to appropriate work queues. Researches and resolves issues with unidentifiable mail via the internal record keeping system. Responds to, and interacts with, a wide variety of internal customers.

What you will do:

  • Sort incoming mail into returned mail and new mail.
  • Open and date stamp new mail.
  • Sort postal mail by type of request and attach appropriate cover sheets.
  • Sorts electronic mail and forwards to appropriate work queue based on the type of request.
  • Sort incoming checks, open, log, prep, scan and audit. 
  • Secondary audit by a Senior Scan Ops Coordinator for check counts.
  • They are then audited by the Banking department for accuracy and sign off.
  • Requires general and network-based computer knowledge and ability to recognize mail requiring special handling.
  • Requires knowledge of all Empower business.
  • Researches and resolves issues with unidentifiable mail and special handling mail.
  • Sort returned mail and prep for processing, placing mail holds and updating addresses as applicable.  
  • Requires general and mainframe computer knowledge and skills, and problem-solving ability.

What you will bring:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • FINRA fingerprinting required.
  • Physically demanding.
  • Requires ability to sit for long periods of time, along with occasionally lifting heavy objects up to 45 pounds.
  • Works with and around machinery, including postage machines, openers, scanners, copiers and printers.
  • May stand, stoop, reach, pull and push on occasion.
  • This position frequently requires periodic and mandatory (usually unscheduled) overtime

Base Salary Range

$36,300.00 - $49,950.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
