As part of Detection and Measurement, CUES is the world�s leading developer of water, wastewater, and storm water inspection equipment. With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems. How you will make an Impact (Job Summary) SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Software Engineering Intern, you will assist the Software Engineering team with unit testing and test fixture coding. You will also develop coding productivity tools and assist the software team with updating existing documentation. What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities) While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be: Projects & Continuous Improvement - Provide support to software engineering team in the execution of the technical activities required on assigned projects such as:
- Unit testing, hardware in the loop testing, and test fixture coding
- Develop productivity tools such as serial number programmers and burn in fixtures
- Update existing documentation to improve engineering efficiency
- Help reduce documentation backlog using Confluence
- Lead other projects as assigned or proposed by you
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education) We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has: Required Experience and Education - Student working towards a bachelor�s degree in software engineering, computer science or other related Engineering field
- Candidates must have completed their third year of engineering studies
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- High problem-solving skills and self-direction
- Company will not provide sponsorship of position � must be eligible to work in US
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Familiarity with common software development tools
- Technical hands-on experience with Microsoft Office products
Travel & Working Environment - Manufacturing Environment frequently requires use of foot and eye protection when in production areas
- Ability to climb, stoop, crouch and crawl
- Ability to lift/move up to 25lbs occasionally
